Initiative InfoPlus

With the InfoPlus initiative, the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland (DTD) has been supporting the exchange and networking between independent producers, agents, managers and production offices since 2012.

The DTD invites independent producers, agents, managers and production offices to so-called “InfoPlus producers` meetings” at irregular intervals - until 2019 several times a year in different cities in Germany.

Various initiatives were developed in these meetings, including the Kreativ-Transfer funding programme.

Since 2019, the DTD has focused on international, particularly European, networking and on the international exchange of expertise, especially as part of Kreativ-Transfer:

  • In the programme Kreativ-Transfer, producers have the opportunity to apply for funding to attend international trade fairs/festivals or to realise strategic projects - in order to build and expand their international network and strengthen their visibility (and that of performing arts made in Germany) on the international market.
  • International producers` meetings have been taking place (live and online) since 2016, e.g. at internationale tanzmesse nrw 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024.
  • In 2020 - together with the French producers' network LAPAS - the European network PAMPA (Producers, Agents, Managers in the Performing Arts) was launched.
  • In 2024/25, a companionship programme is being implemented together with produktionsbande - network performing arts producers - an exchange programme for producers on the topics of international relations, networking and contexts. More info here.

The following topics are part of the producers` meetings and programmes: The self-image, role and position of independent producers, agents and managers, the working relationship between producers and artists, fee calculation and working conditions, funding for producers and production offices, the expansion of international networking and the international transfer of know-how, etc.

The InfoPlus meetings are aimed at all freelance producers / managers / agents / representatives of production offices in the performing arts who (want to) work professionally as such - up-and-coming producers are just as welcome as established colleagues working in the field.

Current events

In collaboration with the law firm/office Laaser, the DTD (German Dance Association) has created a sample contract within the framework of the InfoPlus producer network and with the support of the Kreativ-Transfer program. This contract allows producers to regulate and document their collaboration with artists.

The purpose of the template contract is to provide a solid foundation for the working relationship between producers and artists. It serves as a guide, outlining the essential elements that should be included in a contract. The contract contains various customizable sections that can be adjusted by the contracting parties according to their specific needs.

We welcome feedback on the sample contract, and upon request, we can provide you with the Word files. Please contact: j.gruenewald@dachverband-tanz.de (Jana Grünewald)

    Disclaimer:
This contract has been drawn up as a model for the usual need for regulation in the area of production management in the independent performing arts scene. The model contract can be used by both contracting parties and regulates the relationship between production manager and client. The model contract was drawn up with the greatest care and in accordance with the legal regulations at the time of its update in April 2025 (first published: March 2021). However, no claim is made to completeness or accuracy. The information boxes are intended as an aid for the contracting parties so that the contract can be applied correctly in individual cases. However, it is expressly pointed out that the interests and needs of the parties may differ from this model contract. Both parties are encouraged to carefully examine the provisions before using the model contract and to seek legal advice in case of ambiguity. Liability for slight negligence is also excluded in principle. The model contract may not be passed on to third parties.
