At the Theater Pforzheim, contemporary dance is developed by the ensemble members together with ballet director and choreographer Guido Markowitz. The ballet is open to impulses from other disciplines. This is why the aesthetic direction is always changing. New ideas come in particular from training with changing guest trainers. The aim of this way of working is to expand the company's movement vocabulary and prepare it for a wide range of possibilities and styles and to allow these to take effect in the bodies. A production for the big stage, a ‘site-specific’ project, the ‘Tanz pur’ series, ‘Junge Choreographen’ and many other events form the core of the dance programme. ‘Tanz pur’ is based on a performance format with various guest choreographers who are chosen together with the ensemble members. Short pieces are shown and new accents are set so that the richness of contemporary dance is presented. The ensemble's movement language remains flexible and in tune with the times. Each production is based on the authenticity of the dancers' movements as well as the strong characters of the artists involved and the context of the venue. Experiments are encouraged and contemporary dance is discovered in dialogue with the audience.
