Dancersconnect

Dancers from all over the world want to think about dance and get involved. Dancersconnect has become the vehicle for this movement and connects dancers across ensembles throughout Germany. Together, the participants organise conferences and social media presence to discuss their artistic work and their lives in Germany. In cooperation with the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland, dancersconnect organised a total of four conferences at which 47 of the 65 ensembles of German municipal and state theatres were represented. The Federal German Dance Board is elected every two years as a joint representative body, which enters into dialogue with all participating interest groups and associations in order to achieve the network's goals. Most recently, dancersconnect opened its 4th conference to all interested dancers from the permanent theatres and the independent scene. The work of the network has so far been supported exclusively by the voluntary commitment of active dancers.

The idea: ENSEMBLE CULTURE STRENGTHENS DANCE ART. In dialogue with each other, dancers learn to translate their professional experience into concrete ideas for stage dance. The framework conditions for their work are to be further developed in a future-orientated way. Healthier and more accessible creative processes can unleash unimagined artistic potential in the ensembles, which are made up of the international elite of the dance scene. At the same time, it offers the opportunity to bring dance with its highly topical social significance as a non-verbal live art into a more authentic dialogue with the audience: namely by dancers themselves becoming ambassadors of dance. Dancersconnect is an expression of their sense of responsibility for the unique German dance landscape.
