Documentation of the symposium POSITIONS:DANCE#4 CREATING ACCESSES - DIVERSITY now available online!

The hybrid symposium POSITIONS:DANCE#4 Creating Accesses - Diversity, which took place from October 21 to 23 at PACT Zollverein under the direction of Nora Amin (main curator), Mey Seifan and David Kono, was characterized by a lively participation.

A total of 220 German and international interested parties participated. The many-voiced contributions form an excellent starting point for the further work of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland. Thanks to the support of the Goethe-Institut, it was also possible to finance the participation of five speakers from Nigeria, Cameroon, France, the USA and Lebanon.

The recordings of the individual contributions can be seen on our YouTube channel (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland e.V. ) and on the website of the German Dance Award. A written documentation of the symposium in English is also availlable.

The diverse discussion on all days of the symposium resulted in the list of demands created by the Speaker:innen. The next step is the development of a long-term strategy to transfer the demands for justice and equality and diversity to an institutional level of change.  

Parallel to many necessary changes, which are to be implemented step by step through a critical discourse of the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland on its own processes and in dialogue with the dance scene and cultural politics, the symposium 2022 POSITIONS: DANCE #5 under the umbrella topic "Creating Access", from October 13 to 15, is dedicated to another urgent topic, which is still neglected even in the dance
