CALL FOR PROPOSALS GERMAN DANCE AWARD 2022

The German Dance Association calls on dance associations and institutions as well as all dance professionals to submit proposals for the German Dance Award 2022.

The deadline for proposals is February 6, 2022.

The German Dance Award honors outstanding personalities of dance in Germany. The focus is on the artistic work of choreographers, dancers, ensembles, or collectives. Nevertheless, personalities from the fields of education, journalism, science, or other areas of dance creation can also be nominated. Furthermore, the German Dance Association awards two additional honors: an honor as outstanding performer and an honor for outstanding development in dance.

Proposals for the German Dance Award 2022

Proposals for the election of the awardees can be submitted by representatives of associations and institutions of dance as well as by all dance creators. As associations, both nationwide and regional associations of all areas of dance creation in Germany are eligible to submit proposals. Companies, artist collectives, production venues, schools, archives, and comparable permanent dance institutions are considered institutions.

To submit a proposal, the following documents must be submitted:

• A biography of the proposed person/institution (max. 2 A4 pages, file format: PDF).
• A detailed justification for the proposal (max. 3000 characters incl. spaces)
• Press material on the proposed person / institution (min. 2, max. 6 documents, merged as one PDF)
• If applicable, the website of the proposed person / institution
• If applicable, video links (max. 5)

With their proposal, the submitters assure that they are neither related to nor currently affiliated with the proposed person/institution under employment law. A maximum of three proposals can be submitted per person / institution / association.
