At Tanzplattform Rhein-Main, everything revolves around dance: we are developing a variety of production, performance and mediation formats that are aimed at dance professionals as well as amateurs who want to dance themselves and dance-loving audiences. With our offers, we strengthen dance performers and dance in the region, and connect actors and institutions regionally and nationally. We have made it our mission to get even more people from the Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region excited about dance.
The Rhine-Main Dance Platform is a three-year cooperation project between Künstlerhaus Mousonturm and the Hessian State Ballet, which in turn belongs to the two state theaters in Darmstadt and Wiesbaden. This is the first time that the dance departments of two state theaters and an international production house have joined forces over a longer period of time - and are contributing their creative input, ideas and experience.
In addition to the Rhine-Main Dance Festival, which takes place once a year, we provide choreographers with the opportunity to produce their pieces entirely in our city with cross-city residency programs. Under the title “Ensemble Mobil”, mobile productions are created with which artists tour the region and bring dance performances to places beyond that of conventional theaters. We likewise offer dance-in-schools projects, regular training for professional dancers, dance medicine consultations, workshops and further training. In Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, there are also dance clubs for all ages to participate in.
