K3 - Centre for Choreography | Tanzplan Hamburg is a competence center and reference point for contemporary dance and choreography, artistic research and dance education and one of the few dance houses in the German-speaking world.
A key focus of K3's work is the development and provision of various international residency and artistic work formats that combine artistic research, production and presentation and - such as the eight-month residency - focus on (artistic) sustainability.
At the same time, the centre offers dance and cultural professionals regular courses and training, specialist further education and qualification as well as information and advice.
Programs for dance enthusiasts of all ages combine dance practice and discourse. This also includes the area of cultural education, which includes cooperation projects and partnerships with schools as well as projects with and by young people.
Since 2018, K3, together with Fabrik Potsdam and Fokus Tanz München e.V., has been building a network in the field of dance for young audiences with explore dance (awarded the perspective prize of the German theater award DER FAUST 2019).
The three main areas of work - residencies, courses and training, dance education - interact closely in terms of content in order to blur the boundaries between practice and theory as well as between artistic work and dance mediation.
