The child takes centre stage - the capital C for the English word CHILD in the middle of the lowercase letters has also been retained in the name of the ‘German Section’ and signals this: The most important thing is our young pupils.

daCi Deutschland e.V. is a network of dancers, dance teachers, choreographers, dance enthusiasts, researchers and sponsors who are in constant dialogue about the dissemination, development and quality improvement of creative, artistic contemporary dance for children and young people. The aim of the co-operation between active members and artists, sponsors and politicians is to open up more and more DANCE SPACES for young people in the future. Establishing dance in general education schools in Germany is one of daCi's most important tasks.

daCi has therefore set itself the goal of

• To give children and young people the opportunity to encounter dance as creators, performers and spectators.
• to ensure that children's views and interests with regard to dance are presented and respected.
• To support dance research on all aspects of children's movement.
• to introduce or strengthen dance as an art form in education and recreation in all countries of the world.
