The rapidly advancing technical developments of recent decades have produced a broad spectrum of digital technologies. These achievements have long since ceased to be the sole preserve of the computer world and are now closely interrelated with the modern arts. Since the 1960s, video, film, graphic design, photography and music have enriched both the recording and the artistic composition of dance, thus enabling innovative forms of design and presentation.
The tanz:digital platform is dedicated to the topic of dance and digital technologies with articles and sample projects and offers networking opportunities.
With tanz:digital, the German Dance Association, in cooperation with dance archives, production houses and the model projects funded within the project, is pursuing the goal of turning dance into a virtual and immersive experience and presenting it online.
