Since 2018, the German Dance Association has organized an annual public conference under the title POSITIONS:DANCE as part of the German Dance Award, which addresses current issues, attitudes and developments within the dance scene, cultural policy and society and initiates discussions.
Save the Date: Kick-Off 15. October, 2022, 1 pm till 5 pm (digital / participation is free of charge)
What development is necessary in German (contemporary) dance so that everyone has access?
What impulses are needed so that we do not equate protonormalistic body images and movements with professional dance?
What impulses can cultural policy give so that dance does not just open a door here and there for people with disabilities, but that the whole world of dance is open to them - with all the support and freedom for artistic development?
To address these and other questions, we are leaving the well known format of a tightly scheduled three-day symposium, slowing it down and making it more accessible.
We are organising a series of digital symposium modules spanning the period from October 2022 to March 2023. The modules will each be dedicated to a main focus of the 'Access' theme, from potentials in dance education to questions of professionalization and transnational perspectives.
Following the kick-off event on 15 October 2022 four further digital modules are planned:
beginning of December 2022
end of January 2023
end of February 2023
end of March 2023
each on Fridays or Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We will inform you about the exact dates.
