We are looking forward to meet you at our booth! No.134.
The project supports meetings and dialogue at the international dance fair nrw, Düsseldorf 2022, and
CINARS, conference and festival Montreal 2022
For the year 2022, the German Dance Association launched a pilot project for a joint presence of dance from Germany for the first time, on the one hand at the international tanzmesse nrw in August 2022 and at CINARS in Montreal/Canada in November 2022.
The idea is not to have the usual booth, but rather a presentation and meeting space (dialogue space) where artists and other professionals can talk about artistic and social issues and engage in creative processes.
A current section of the dance scene in Germany, with new productions, established as well as emerging artists and fresh ideas: Dance Update Germany!
The concept was developed together with networks, associations and initiatives that already present their regional artists and companies, for example at the international dance fair nrw, such as the nrw landesbuero tanz and the TanzSzene Baden-Württemberg.
The pilot project Dance Update Germany is a joint initiative of regional dance networks and dance offices, the German Dance Association and the landesbuero tanz nrw to showcase dance in German federal states and municipalities and promote national and international exchanges among dance artists.
Visitors to the area/booth of Dance Update Germany had the opportunity at the “internationale tanzmesse nrw 2022” to find out more about the artists and companies currently producing contemporary dance in Germany through conversations and video material available during the fair. The project team also intended presenting several key topics that will be increasingly important in the dance scene in Germany in the future (dance for young audiences, audience development, and diversity and inclusion) and examine these topics in more detail on the basis of artistic positions. At the CINARS Biennale the project team wants to continue giving insights of the German dance landscape abroad with the initiative Dance Update Germany.
If you’re looking for contacts in a particular region of Germany or have a special topic you’d like to work on in a future production and hope to find likeminded dance experts, please stop by at the area during the CINARS Biennale and say “Hi!". The Team from the German Dance Association will be very pleased for interesting conversations and in being helpful for making connections to the German dance scene.
