A Late Summer Night’s Dream

What would we be without our dreams? They are our driving force, our source of inspiration, and a place for healing and self-discovery (Helge Letonja).

With “A Late Summer Night’s Dream,” Helge Letonja creates, through his richly detailed and emotionally expressive movement language, a choreographic allegory that explores the urgent search for connection and physicality. A gathering of young people in the forest. As a place of promise, it stimulates the senses with its ancient connections and deep-rooted symbioses. The desire to immerse oneself in its mysterious world and lose oneself unfolds into a dizzying web of intertwining connections. In search of touch and devotion, the group throws itself into the charged atmosphere of a late summer night; individuals become entangled with one another. Ecstatic and nightmarish states alternate until the night passes and the window of opportunity to immerse oneself in a seductive dream world closes once more.

Spanish composer Miguel Marin, who has received numerous awards for his compositions in the field of dance, is creating the music for both pieces. Marin uses electro-acoustic elements in his evocative soundscapes to create a powerful experience. His music enhances the audience’s immersion in the dancers’ world of movement.
