Ballettschule Elisabeth Lust

"To mark International Dance Day, the Elisabeth Lust Ballet School transforms downtown Bühl into a vibrant stage every two years. In 2025, the flash mob was held under the theme "Growing Together"—an artistic statement celebrating diversity and unity in dance.

About fifty dancers, ranging in age from six to 75 and representing a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, danced their way from Johannesplatz to the Stadtgarten. Without a stage floor, without fixed boundaries, and without any distance from the audience. In pointe shoes, in street shoes, in classic tutus, or in streetwear. The pedestrian zone became a performance space—and the audience became part of the action. It was precisely this immediacy that opened up new avenues of engagement: people who otherwise have little exposure to classical dance spontaneously became spectators.Dance became accessible to everyone—as a shared cultural space that brings people together. The challenges were deliberately chosen: shifting surfaces, a lack of reference points, and close proximity. This made it all the more evident what dance can achieve—concentration, adaptability, and artistic expression under real-world conditions.

Growing Together” powerfully demonstrated that diversity in dance is not only visible but also actively fosters a sense of unity: across generations, across cultural backgrounds, and between the stage and public spaces. What remains is more than just a moment: a shared experience that brings people together—quietly, immediately, and with a lasting impact."
