The coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD was signed last week. What does it say about dance? First of all, the art form of dance is not explicitly mentioned, although it is just as much an independent art form as music (mentioned several times) and the other liberal arts. But: there are many concrete starting points for the promotion of dance. We highlight cooperation between the federal and state governments, rural areas, the systematization of funding, the digital transformation of cultural work and the digitalization of cultural heritage. For dance, this could mean strengthening urban-rural federal dance funding, systematically promoting dance and thinking about all areas - from art production, distribution and internationalization to dance studies, journalism and archives. A lot to do for four years. As soon as the Minister of State for Culture is appointed, we will push for a round table on dance funding.
