Public discussion with representatives of dance archives in Germany, including the Archiv der Akademie der Künste Berlin, Deutsches Tanzarchiv Köln, Mediathek für Tanz und Theater am ITI Berlin, Deutsches Tanzfilminstituts Bremen and Tanzarchiv Leipzig e. V.
The work of these archives includes the digitization of collection objects as well as the establishment of databases and user-friendly research platforms for the cultural heritage of dance in Germany. The discussion will focus on the challenges, experiences and concepts associated with these tasks. The event will also present examples of the media presentation of dance, including the tanz:digital platform being developed by the German Dance Association.
