The German Dance Association and a large numer of collaborating dance networks, project partners and dance professionals working in Germany will be present at the booth DANCE UPDATE GERMANY during the internationale tanzmesse nrw in Duesseldorf, Germany.
The pilot project Dance Update Germany is a joint initiative of regional dance networks and dance offices, the German Dance Association and the landesbuero tanz nrw to showcase dance in German federal states and municipalities and promote national and international exchanges among dance artists.
Visitors to the area/booth of Dance Update Germany at the “internationale tanzmesse nrw” are invited to find out more about the artists and companies currently producing contemporary dance in Germany through conversations and video material available during the fair. The project team is also intending to present several key topics that will be increasingly important in the dance scene in Germany in the future (dance for young audiences, audience development, and diversity and inclusion) and examine these topics in more detail on the basis of artistic positions.

Über die BBTK haben sich 26 Ensembles der Stadt- und Staatstheater an dem Projekt beteiligt.

The third cultural policy forum "Dance: Transnational Collaborations" takes place September 2, 5pm.
What future role can and should dance play locally, nationally and globally? What potential do the interrelations between local engagement in dance and the global social context offer and how can these be supported in terms of cultural policy? What challenges arise regarding transnational collaborations and how can these be secured in sustainable ways? The moderator Prasanna Oommen will discuss these and other questions with Barbara Gessler (Creative Europe) and Israel Aloni (choreographer, artistic director ilDance).
