The two-day symposium is dedicated to the topic of dance and parenthood. The focus is on the question of how fair working conditions can be developed for freelance dance professionals with care responsibilities—and what structural changes are necessary to achieve this.

Since 2022, a group of independent artists has been working with the Tanzbüro on this topic. The challenges are complex and require cooperation on many levels. We are therefore inviting stakeholders from the dance and performance scene, academia, administration, and cultural policy to join us in developing new approaches and recommendations for action that will help improve the situation for dance professionals. The program includes lectures, workshops, discussions, and a cultural policy panel. Topics include solidarity-based work structures and family-friendly production, the accessibility of dance for both actors and audiences with care responsibilities, and new funding models adapted to these needs.
