The DIS-TANZ-START program for dancers starting out on their careers, which is run by the German Dance Association, is taking stock before the end of its term: as part of NEUSTART KULTUR, an initiative of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, it has enabled 104 dancers to gain their first permanent engagement in dance and ballet companies in Germany. Qualification and exchange programs are also part of the program.
Because all NEUSTART KULTUR projects end in the summer of 2023, further funding applications for the current or next season are currently not possible. The qualification program, however, will continue until the end of the year. Interested dancers can still submit the online registration application for this until the end of August and then take advantage of the interdisciplinary offers. The recently published program expertise bundles evaluations and options for action for the future. The report and a final report will be presented at a forum in the fall to provide an opportunity for an exchange on cultural and educational policy.
