Stage program - Information about the projects

BERLIN BALLET COMPANY: Touch Me

The BERLIN BALLET COMPANY has dedicated itself to making classical dance attractive and accessible to audiences of all ages and artistic preferences with the help of cross-over projects in unusual locations. A short preview of the performance A TECHNO BALLET ODYSSEY, which will take place at Kraftwerk Berlin in December, will be shown on the Day of Action.

DIN A 13 tanzcompany: techNOlimits

In the dance production "techNOlimits", the many facets and possibilities of prostheses are used as examples to explore the connections and influences of technology and the body. The piece makes visible how special features of prostheses and disabilities can be harnessed for art, dance and society. DIN A 13 tanzcompany is one of the few dance ensembles internationally whose members are made up of dancers with and without physical disabilities.

EveryBody: dancing for inclusion

EveryBody is an inclusive contemporary dance project for everyone and every body. At the day of action, the initiative wants to present and share how dance can be brought to everyone and every body. An acrobatic dance performance will illustrate the motto "Dance creates cohesion". In addition, a small hands-on activity invites everyone present to pause for a moment and experience the richness of being human.

GOOD DANCE – DieTanzschule: DRUM and DANCE

DieTanzschule from Bernburg/Saale unites dancers and marching drummers in "DRUM and DANCE". Hip hop and modern dance elements meet the rhythm of marching drums. The project has brought together amateurs and professionals, musicians and dancers as well as children and adults from smaller provinces. The aim was and is to connect different people with dance, true to the motto: One Team One Show!

LUNA PARK: Tanz mit mir

Dancers and children from the Gesundbrunnen elementary school in Berlin-Wedding show excerpts from short choreographies they have created themselves as part of the day of action. The performance symbolically demonstrates the importance of dance encounters - both between the children and between professional dancers and people who usually have little or no access to contemporary dance.
Since 2022, LUNA PARK's “Tanz mit mir!” format has been funded by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund as part of the “tanz(t)räume” project and co-financed by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion and, as part of “tanz(t)räume in 2024”, by the urban development funding program Sozialer Zusammenhalt via the project fund of QM Badstraße.

Potpourri Dance: PUSH

The dance performance PUSH brings the idea of empowerment to life. Two dancers reflect the inner attitude and resistance of young people in a school context. In the course of the piece, the dancers encourage each other to overcome their own fears - through self-confidence and the power of community. The Potpourri collective work in the field of hip hop & house dance, where community and cohesion are paramount.

Rasika Dance Theatre International: The Cosmic Body

Rasika Dance Theatre International, founded by Rajyashree Ramesh, is based on the Indian performing art Natya. The artists have different backgrounds and work across cultures and genres. The aim is to use lived dance diversity as a means of overcoming fears of contact, fears of losing one's own identity, boundaries, rejection or "foreignness". The presentation takes place as a lecture performance, also for the audience to join in.

Sasha Waltz & Guests: Lecture Performance „In C“

For the Day of Action, Wibke Storkan from Sasha Waltz & Guests, together with three young people from the youth dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests, will invite visitors to gain initial insights into the concept of “In C” as part of an activating lecture performance and to get to know and try out the movement material in a playful way. “In C” is about belonging, harmony and the power of polyphony. The piece aims to make the principles of living democracy intuitively tangible. The lecture performance will be accompanied musically by Ali Hasan.

steptext dance project: Be-Greifen

With "Be-Greifen", Of-Curious-Nature dancer Kossi S. Aholou-Wokawui (Togo/Bremen) presents her own solo work, which deals with the colonial past between Bremen and Togo. How can the ancestors, whose masks and artifacts are stored in German museums, be liberated through today's body and tell stories in dance? Aholou-Wokawui approaches this important topic in the form of physical processing through trance.

Studierendenprojekt der Academy von DansArt Tanznetworks: Language of the human being

The piece "Language of the human being" deals with the physical and verbal language of dancers. The three dancers come from different countries of origin (Benin, Uganda, Germany) and grew up with different mother tongues. In their project, they show how borders can be overcome through dance and how communication is possible even without understanding every word.

TANZMOTO: Berlin Gate

The association TANZMOTO e. V. is active in the field of contemporary dance, working with amateurs from young to old, prospective art and dance students, professional international dancers and artists as well as people with and without disabilities. Social issues are incentives for new creations. During the day of action, TANZMOTO will provide insights into the many years of joint work based on tolerance and mutual support.

t.error&delicious//Lucia+guests: FaUNA

The solo performance "FaUNA" shows the facets of female existence. Instead of pointe shoes, the dancer Valeria Liva has put on a pair of boxing gloves and is simultaneously hindered and protected by them. The dancer throws herself into a gentle rebellion as a contemporary female faun. The performance will be followed by an invitation to a movement workshop.
