On September 13, 2024, the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland, together with Bureau Ritter and JOINT ADVENTURES / NATIONALES PERFORMANCE NETZ, organized the Day of Action "Dance creates Cohesion" at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
A multifaceted program of performances, presentations, hands-on activities, interviews and discussions took place from 3 p.m. onwards - for all interested parties, passers-by, politicians and citizens. The day of action culminated in a large dance rally in front of the Brandenburg Gate - with dance and for dance. Statements by artists and representatives of cultural associations, trade unions and politics mingle with music and dance. Everyone was invited to join in the demonstration and dance - #TogetherWeDance!
The day of action showed once again that dance and culture contribute to more togetherness and democratic dialog. That is why the participants also demonstrated on this day for an increase in cultural and arts funding and for artists, ensembles and venues to receive more political support.
The Day of Action was hosted by Eugene Boateng - actor, dancer and choreographer. DJ Fresh, well-known in the Berlin Hip-Hop scene, provided the music for dancing along with R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Rap, Afro, Dancehall and funky/soulful House.
