TanzSzene BW

Established in 2009, TanzSzene Baden-Württemberg is an interest association for dance professionals in the state. It unites the independent scene and the permanent ensembles with the aim of strengthening dance in Baden-Württemberg. Joint topics, goals and projects are formulated several times a year at round tables and the general assembly. With an office in Stuttgart, TanzSzene maintains contact with politicians and the relevant cultural and dance associations at a national and international level.

In recent years, TanzSzene BW has implemented numerous initiatives and projects, including the pilot projects “All You Can Dance” and “Tanz in der Fläche” for more dance outside urban districts and the “KoKo Tanz” competence and coordination centre for dance education in early childhood education, which is funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation. Since 2022, it has been part of the “Tanz weit draußen” alliance, which it co-founded. It offers dance professionals a constantly growing range of training courses and workshops and sees itself as a driver of contact and exchange at a national and international level.

TanzSzene BW is sponsored by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and was established in 2012 as a non-profit association with an office in Stuttgart. Andrea Gern has been the managing director since 2016.
